Our Modern Rustic Dining Table Makeover

Hey friends! I shared this recent project on Instagram and got lots of questions on the products I used.

For the base, I painted it with Silk Mineral Paint in the color “Anchor.” It’s such a great, full coverage paint that dries down to a buttery, matte finish. I recommend using a foam roller to minimize brush strokes on flat surfaces.


To seal after using the paint, I used Easy Peasy Clear Matte Spray Wax and buffed it on with a towel.


For the table top, I sanded it down to raw wood with my power sander and used a mixture of two stains (Weathered Oak and Provincial) to achieve this color. I used this tutorial to make the mixture.

And then sealed it with Polycrylic in Clear Ultra Flat.

As for tools, I used my favorite paintbrush, the Zibra 2-inch Palm Pro
