Digital Planning – START HERE

Hey friends! I’m so excited to introduce you to digital planning! If you’re a planner gal like me, you love writing things down, getting to see everything at a glance, and having fun with that creative side of your brain.

While I love iCal and Google Calendar, there is just something about writing down your goals, to-dos and appointments that makes it REAL. It helps me to remember better when I see it in my own handwriting and I remember writing it down. But I don’t want to carry my planner with me everywhere!

Digital planning gives you the pleasure of writing things down with the convenience and flexibility of making edits and having it at your fingertips (aka your phone) at all times.

Not sure where to start? You’re in the right place! Let’s answer those burning questions. 🙂

Q: Ok, so wait, is this an actual planner?

A: Yes! It’s just like a planner that you would order from a retailer or pick up in your local office supply store… except that it’s not made of paper. Usually the next question I get is “So, it’s an app?” No, it’s not an app. It’s a multi-page PDF document (so, think paper pages) that you access on your iPad through a note-taking app (Goodnotes 5) In the app, you write onto the PDF (the planner) with a stylus. From there, you can open the app on your tablet and/or phone to have your planner with you at all times.

Q: How can I make the switch to digital planning from paper planning?

A: Go here to this blog post to learn all about it! Everything about digital planning is the same as paper except you’ll save a ton of money on paper, writing supplies AND it syncs to your phone.

All you need to get started is a tablet, a stylus, the Goodnotes 5 app and a digital planner download. Here are my specific recommendations and what I use to plan:

Tablet: iPad Pro 11-inch (disclosure policy)

TABLET COVER: This one from Amazon

Stylus: Apple Pencil

Goodnotes 5 app

Q: Will a digital planner sync to my iCal or Google Calendar?

A: No. Your digital planner is a PDF file that you can “write” on in a note-taking app. It is exactly like a paper planner, except that it lives inside your iPad. I recommend using a digital planner to write things out and then using your calendar app for reminders and notifications.

Q: How do I purchase a planner?

A: You can visit our shop to view and purchase the planners.

Q: None of the planners are a perfect fit for me and my lifestyle. Can you make a custom planner?

A: Definitely! I love creating planners so just give me a holler!

Q: Can I use your planner on an Android device or my laptop?

A: I highly recommend the iPad with the Apple Pencil for the best experience but I have had a few customers use it on Android with the Xodo app. My video tutorials are done with Goodnotes 5 on the iPad so your experience will look different. I have not heard of anyone digital planning on a laptop but if you have a PDF reading program that allows you to annotate on it, then you should be able to do it.

Q: If I edit the planner on my iPad, can I still access it on my iPhone?

A: Absolutely! Make sure that you have the same app downloaded on both devices with iCloud sharing ON. You can also edit your planner on your phone but it is a little more difficult with the smaller screen.

Q: Can I print your planner?

A: I am currently working on formatting the digital planners to be printer (and ink) friendly. Join my email list to hear when those release!

Q: I purchased a planner; how do I download it to my iPad?

A: After your purchase, you will receive a link to your planner download on your order confirmation page. Anytime thereafter, you can access your digital file(s) in your account.

My planners are pretty large files so your initial download will likely be a one-page PDF document with a link to the large planner file in Google Drive. From there, you will download the PDF file directly to your iPad. You can re-download this file as many times as you’d like!

Q: Where can I find videos on how to use my planner?

Q: How can I connect with you if I have questions?

A: You can email or DM me anytime!
